AMPS Maintenance

The core of AMPS Maintenance is a functionally-rich Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) that has been extensively tailored for the Defence and Maritime industries. AMPS Maintenance can be employed by both ships and their associated shore support agencies for the purpose of maintenance planning and defect rectification. It is fully integrated within the AMPS suite of products and is designed to pass transactional information between users utilising its internal workflow capabilities. Its functions include:

A Facility Hierarchy for asset registration and baseline management.
Planned Maintenance routine templates.
Application Parts List (APL) for stores and maintenance enquiries
A Certified Items module for the management of critical maintenance tasks
Job Requests for defect reporting
Work Package functionality for availability planning

AMPS Supply and Inventory

The AMPS Supply module allows supply personnel to accurately determine the type and quantities of inventory required for the control of onhand stock. Its planning functionality forecasts in advance when parts are needed and where they are required. AMPS supply removes repetitive manual tasks and allows users to carry out the following functions:

Supplier agreements and contracts
Stock movements and auto-replenishment
Central or distributed purchasing
Comprehensive order tracking and supplier hit rate assessment

AMPS Change Management

The AMPS Change Management module is responsible for the creation and endorsement of change management directives. The module can be utilised either onboard a vessel, or, at its associated shore support agency. The current modules provide users the capability to request modifications to items including:

changes to planned maintenance frequency
the addition or removal of machinery
updating documentation deficiencies or errors
deviations from the product baseline with regards to spares

AMPS Reporting

AMPS utilises a third party product, Business Intelligence (BI) Query to satisfy user reporting requirements. BI Query is owned by the Canadian Company OpenText Corporation and allows users to:

Launch pre-built and formatted reports
Create customised tables and graphs from the centralised data model
Insertinteractive prompts and qualifications which restrict the data retrieved by a query
Add executable buttons which launch reports to a configurable user layer

AMPS Data Exchange (Deployability)

The AMPS Data Exchange module forms an integral part of the delpoyed AMPS solution. It seamlessly transfers information between shore organisations and their associated deployed assets and does not require manual user intervention. Information to be transferred is held in a queue until a link is created with the destination database allowing its full utilisation with vessels under restricted communications access. The information transferred during this process includes:

New items to be added to the AMPS configuration baseline such as equipment and planned maintenance routines
Completed job histories which provide information regarding material consumption and completion times
Machinery readings to trigger hourly based maintenance
Requests for contractor assistance from the shore support agency
Work packages containing tasks for availability planning
New change directives requiring authorisation

AMPS Personnel & Training

The AMPS Personnel and Training module allows managers to record the status of all billeted personnel and generate reports and manning charts for use within the vessel. Used effectively this module contributes to the overall personnel and training management functions necessary to maintain an accurate and up-to-date view of the status of a ship's complement. Its features include:

Creating a ship's complement and assigning personnel to billets
Determining a billet's skill requirements, onboard duties, training course requirements and leave entitlements
Recording personnel details including contact information, next of kin etc and conducting leave planning
Producing ship's manifests to display the billeted personnel onboard and their associated skill-sets

AMPS Mission Management

The AMPS Mission Management module allows operational planners to instantly view the status of their vessels and make informed decisions about their assignment to specific mission types. Mission Management information is seamlessly transferred between users to allow each to contribute to the overal mission assignment required by the operational headquarters. Its modules allow users to carry out functions including:

Determining the core and primary elements of a mission
Identifying the types of mission to be performed by a vessel
Viewing the geographical area in which the mission can be performed
Reporting on the necessary stock holdings required to achieve the mission
The ability of the vessel to perform the mission based on equipment and personnel availability

AMPS Interface Capability

AMPS has the ability to provide a seamless interface to existing business systems to facilitate the transfer of any necessary information. This function has currently been employed for the purposes of (but not restricted to):

Integration with management systems to manage baseline configuration requirements
Linking to financial systems for the modelling and analysis of monetary data
